Obama 08′
Tuesday, November 4, 2008 by Mike Lowrey.
Today we write history, we as a nation will elect
an African American to hold the most powerful job in the world.
In short….”There’s a new Sheriff in town!”

Today we walk with pride as we look towards the future and yet never forgetting the horrific past we have had to endure and overcome. My father isn’t alive today but I’m sure he loves what’s about to happen.
I know that as the results become official we will both have to tears in our eyes underneath our signature shades. Today is for you Dad. And even though he died when I was 3, I spent years looking at pictures of him in the military & reading his letters. He wrote of something called Black Pride. That even though we come from the toughest of places and and the most unlikely of circumstances and against what seems to be insurmountable odds…we can do the right things and become someone great.
I checked this box not only for myself, but also for my Dad.
America has a long road ahead; having to unite our people, to rebuild our economy and having to end our wars. But tonight we celebrate the first step of a long journey that is leading us in the right direction.
I’m trying to find an Election watch party but this isn’t NY and I’m having a hard time finding a decent one. Either way I’ll have bottles of Bubbly and will be toasted tonight. I do wish I could be in Harlem tonight to celebrate, lol.
Roz & Precious please hold Harlem down till I can get out there.
