First Ma$e… now Loon goes Looney??? There’s Something About Diddy.

We all know that Rapper Ma$e was a multi platinum recording artist  with Sean Combs Bad Boy record label.

But then all of a sudden gave up his money and moved down south to become a Pastor, he said White Jesus was calling him to the ministry.

But then after the guys who had beef with him in Harlem (the real reason for him turning to the Lawd) had all died (yeah being a thug in NYC has a real short lifespan) he came back to NYC and Bad Boy to release a “Lawd friendly” rap album.

After that didn’t do too well he switched up gears again and turned to gangsta rap by trying to sign onto 50’s G-Unit records and that didn’t happen, Diddy blocked that deal.

So now I see that Loon is back on the scene giving interviews but not like you would expect.

Sooooo no one told you to shave that bird’s nest on your chin off?
What the Fugg ever happen to Muslim last names like X?
Cuz this Amir Junaid Muhadith Shyt is just way too long to fit on any damn business card or envelope.

Basically I think anyone who does business with Diddy eventually goes crazy.

Vibe mag no more…

Raise your drink up and sip on that brown juice for VibeAs I pour a little Henny out into my fish pond for the passing of Vibe Magazine, I can’t help but remember all the great covers of Vibe.

Vibe magazine, the urban-music magazine founded in 1993 by Quincy Jones, is the latest victim of the media recession. Multiple sources both within and outside the magazine confirmed that it is shutting down.

Reached for comment, chief financial officer Angela Zucconi said, “We will be making a statement by the end of the day. That’s all I can say at this point.” She referred further questions to CEO Steve Aaron, who was not immediately available.

UPDATE:

Quincy Jones just caught wind of the collapse of the magazine he started–VIBE.  And he’s not at all pleased with how things are going down.  He said in a statement to EbonyJet.com yesterday that he plans to get his iconic magazine back and keep it alive:

“They just messed my magazine all up, but I’m gonna get it back. You better believe it, I’mma take it online because print and all that stuff is over.”

She also wants $3,500 for the baby nurse after the child’s birth, and $20,000 for strollers, cribs and other baby supplies.

Hmm I can see this not going very well (ask Mike Strahan about divorce he’s an expert on it by now).

Album Review…

Since I’ve been up for the past 8 hrs working on servers…
(yes, of course I’m working remotely and I’ve been up
working since midnight so I have no clue how I’m
gonna get through the day)
…I thought I’d review a new album or two.

 

But before I get into all of that, I just wanted to give a quick Birthday
shoutout to my Brooklyn home slice…

When I get to Bklyn we’ll hit some spots and pop bottles!!

Muriel
a.k.a. Mz. Supa Sexy

Now back to the business at hand:

Just release this week is Keyshia Cole’s “A Different Me ”

As you can see from the album cover she’s trying to be a little
sexier this album (thank God cuz she was looking like a train wreck)

A few songs that caught my ear were:
Please Don’t Stop - a  toe tapper
You Complete Me - a possible hit
Playa Cardz Right - (Originally released on 2Pac’s Album) - Hot Track

Overall the musical production is really smooth throughout the album
and it was really hard to tell the good songs from the bad since the music
tracks are so damn hot. Overall its a big change from her first 2 albums
it has a real R&B/pop feel to it.

Now onto Mr. Lemonade himself…R. Kels
(Remember the double up tour that collapsed, well Kels was awarded
3.4 Million in a lawsuit against the promoter..Nice bit-O-change).

So he has the 12Play 4th Quarter album dropping soon…
Kels is giving this hit away for free (I think it may have been a leak initially)
on iTunes, I believe (inspired by Barack Obama’s presidential win)

I’ve got some new remixes and some new releases so
holla at your boy if you want that fire.
For example did you hear that new Busta Rhymes?

The Foxx is out!

Jamie Foxx is the Brain McKnight killa.
He’s picking up where Brian & Babyface has fallen off.

I’m not sure why but I’m feeling Plies.
He’s sort of like a southern Pac right now

I can’t wait until 50 drops just so Em & Dre’s can drop their albums.
Damn shame that I want 50’s album to drop just to get to the next
album on the label. Em’s new project has been a long time coming but
the question still remains…Will he still have that hot flow now that he’s
not fighting with his wife every other minute?

And Dr. Dre?? after 10 years of working on the followup album to
the Chronic I swear this album better be better poppin’ like
a hot crackpipe in the 1980’s!!
(geez its brobably been 15 years since The Chronic
cuz Eazy E was alive then)
